Make sure the rock is positioned at one end of the board.

Place your foot on the side of the board that is closest to the ground.


Place your other foot on the higher side of the deck (where the rock is).

Stay in this position until you feel that you are balanced. Your weight will be on the foot closest to the ground.



Hold on to something (or someone). Slowly shift your weight towards your other foot. This will make the board move and slide on the rock.

Next, try and shift your weight back and forth without letting either end of the board touch the ground. That’s how you Pivit!

The secret to Pivit (and skateboarding, snowboarding, and wakeboarding) is learning to shift your weight.
Once you master this, try doing it without holding on to anything.
